Formation and subgrade

Earthwork & bottom embankment

Earthwork creates a stable formation by controlling excavation, approved fill, layer thickness, moisture and compaction before the granular pavement layers are placed.

  • Site clearing and earth cutting
  • Approved-fill placement in layers
  • Moisture conditioning and compaction
  • Formation trimming and level checks

Execution approach

Typical work sequence

The final method, layer thicknesses, materials and inspection points are aligned with the approved drawings, specifications and actual site conditions.

01

Setting-out and cutting

Mark excavation limits and remove unsuitable or excess material.

02

Layer placement

Spread approved soil or fill material in controlled layers.

03

Moisture and compaction

Condition each layer and compact it to the specified requirement.

04

Formation approval

Trim the surface, verify line and level, and prepare for the road base.
