RS-1
Rapid-setting cationic emulsion for approved spray and road-application requirements.
Packing shown: 200 L drum.
RS-1, MS1 and SS1 bitumen emulsion for road construction, maintenance and specified spray-coat applications.
Bitumen emulsion is bitumen dispersed in water with an emulsifying agent, allowing it to be handled and applied in a liquid form for suitable road works. It is commonly used for surface preparation, bonding and maintenance applications selected by the project specification. Jay Ambe supplies RS-1, MS1 and SS1 emulsion types. The selected type should match the intended application, aggregate condition and approved work method.
Rapid-setting cationic emulsion for approved spray and road-application requirements.
Packing shown: 200 L drum.
Medium-setting emulsion for applications requiring a controlled break and mixing/workability period.
Pack sizes shown: 156.5, 161.8, 180 and 200 kg.
Slow-setting emulsion suited to approved applications that require extended workability.
Pack sizes shown: 156.5, 161.8, 180 and 200 kg.
RS-1, MS1 and SS1 are different emulsion types and should not be treated as interchangeable. Selection depends on the project specification, surface condition, aggregate, weather and planned application. Prime coat and tack coat describe work stages; the approved method determines the appropriate material.
Drum packing is available across the three emulsion types shown here. Confirm type, pack size, quantity and delivery location before ordering. Protect containers from contamination and follow the manufacturer’s handling and storage guidance for the selected product.
For project layer terminology and application context, see the Road Construction & Bitumen Work Specification.
They have different setting behaviour and intended uses. The project specification should identify the suitable emulsion type.
It may be used in these stages where the approved method specifies it. Material selection depends on the surface and specification.
